    Default Setup VPN

    Hi,
I'm using CentOS 5.2 Operating System in my Computer at the office. All the Computers in the office are connected to the D Link GLB 502T Router/Modem via a Switch to access the Broadband Internet connection. I would like to make a VPN tunnel from the CentOS Computer(@office) to my home Computer where I'm having the Windows XP Operating System and a USB Broadband Internet Modem. Can any one help me setting up the VPN tunnel by making the Linux Computer as the server and the XP Computer as the client? Please provide detailed information as I'm new to the Virtual Private Networking and even the CentOS Operating System. Thanks in advance..

    Dear Anupvg,

There are easy solutions such as poptop (For PPTP tunnel) and OpenVPN (for SSL based tunnel) - You can configure either of these on your Linux computer and make it act as server where as XP can dial as client.

    I hope this helps,

    Regards,

Thanks for the information. Is it necessary to have the VPN enabled router at both ends? I have seen the option 'VPN' under the 'Category' section of the Router's 'Port Forwarding' setup. In the 'Available Rules' of 'VPN', both 'IPSEC L2TP' and 'PPTP' are listed. Does this mean that I can use it for setting up a VPN connection? Is this DLink Router having the VPN capability? What about the USB Modem?

I have already installed the OpenVPN software and done the following steps by searching in the Internet:

    1)Built the CA certificate.
2)Created the keys on the server.(server.key)

Here I got stuck! Please help me providing further steps. What all configurations I need to make in the client computer? I'll provide if any other information is needed about my system. Please help...Thank you....

However, the poptop connection is setup. But, I'm not able to access the files through the network. How to access the files of the CentOS(server) system from Windows XP(client) system and vice versa? Please help....Thanks...

    Anupvg,

Basically the help you are trying to get is something not included in domain of our services. You'll need hourly paid tech resources to get this work done for you.

Anyway if someone from community can volunteer. I will check if one of our techs will have a couple free hour's I'll direct them to you. Kindly open a support ticket so I can take you in loop at least : http://billing.purevpn.com/submittic...tep=2&deptid=1

    Sincerely,
    The PureVPN team
