dedicated ip and disconnection

Im going to connect myself the same way as your windows xp tutorial,with a dedicated ip.
If im disconnected whats gonna happen? Does my former ip adress comes back? If so is there any solutions to disallow that?
I really dont want my real ip to show up at any time even if unfortunaly my vpn ip disconnects.
