I've been trying to find a reliable VPN service for half a year, and was directed to this site by a coworker. I selected and purchased the 3 day trial subscription via paypal. The transaction was completed and the amount owing was withdrawn from my account. However, my status is still listed as "pending" and shortly after purchasing I received the following email:
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
We are highly excited to see your order today
However in order to process your order, we request you to kindly send us a scanned copy or photograph of your credit card's back and front end (Please black out initial 10 digits for your card security) This is a one-time security screening and would authenticate your card with us for future purchases. There is no risk involved because you will actually blackout initial 10 digits of your card.
If you have paid via PayPal, AlertPay or MoneyBookers kindly send over any government issued ID e.g Driving License, Passport that can verify your name used in transaction.
Please acknowledge, these steps are merely intended to protect your identity from online fraud and to establish legitimacy of this transaction.
Awaiting your kind response,
The PureVPN TeamThe issue I have is highlighted in bold. The TOS states that those within Nigeria are required to submit government issued ID, but I am a Canadian resident. Why is this a requirement in this circumstance? If it is still required, then how would I edit the name used during the transaction as it was not correct. I'm often hesitant to release such personal information for security reasons, but as I previously stated, if it is a requirement then I'd gladly oblige. Please note that the paypal account I used to purchase the subscription with, will match the name imprinted on my ID.However, PureVPN reserves its right to allow any Nigerian to get an account , on receipt of government Issued IDs or LandLine phone Anyone, that would try to by pass checks, or if we found someone from within Nigeria "Pretending to be non-Nigerian", we will immediately terminate the account with no refund offered.
Lastly, does the 3 day trial begin when my purchase is approved, or is it in effect as of now? Regardless of whether or not my account is pending and I'm unable to access the service?
Thank you,
Regards
