Does Apple TV work with VPN? What would the network settings be for the ethernet connection?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Lugacor,
Thank you very much for taking some time and posting in our forum.
I am citing this source in my response : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_TV#Connectivity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_TV#Connectivity)
And specifically this statement:
"The device connects directly to the Internet or other computers either through an Ethernet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet) connection, or wirelessly through the standard IEEE 802.11b, g, and n (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11) wireless protocols. A USB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB) port is also included on the device, but is reserved for service and diagnostics. Network connectivity is not required, although Apple TV benefits from Internet media services, software updates, and content stored on the local network"
This confirms that you can either directly connect it with your PC or with the Router wireless connection. In the latter case you just need to connect VPN on your PC and the Apple device would automatically use your PC's VPN connection, which in my opinion is most easier to use. However if you would like to connect your Apple device directly with your Router, you would need your Router to hold your VPN tunnel.
If your router support PPTP VPN then fine, otherwise we recommend you go for DD-WRT configuration for your router which can be obtained by submitting a ticket to our technical department here : http://billing.purevpn.com/submitticket.php (http://billing.purevpn.com/submitticket.php)
Sincerely,
The PureVPN Team
